Our Journey

 ‘Fourteen’ is a nonprofit community focused organisation. 

Fourteen was found in 2008 with the intention to serve community. The organisation intended to make islamic teachings accessible for all as well as child / youth-friendly. It’s debut programme, going by the name ‘Fourteen’, was extremely well received and acclaimed, giving the organisers the incentive to take on more challenges. Since then, ‘Fourteen’ has not looked back, moving from strength to strength, it now holds a prominent position in the East London community with regular programmes for different edification of audience. 

In order to cater for the needs of all, we have sectioned our community events in the following categories;

 

Milky Way (0-5 years)

Stars (5-11 years)

Comets (11-17 years)

Beacon ( Females)

Alcove ( Males)

Galaxy ( Male & Females or families )

Oceans (Elderly)

 

Over the years a dedicated and growing group of volunteers have contributed to the success of the programmes run by ‘Fourteen’  

 

 • Women are the foundations that hold a building upright – educating and empowering women to take on the challenges of life is a key to create stable families with firm and righteous values

• Today’s youth are the leaders of tomorrow – at ‘Fourteen’ the team strongly believe that a progressive and prosperous future depends on intelligent, well rounded, forward thinking youth, today 

 

 ‘Fourteen’ is primarily dedicated to

• Encouraging and promoting personal development at an individual and collective level; to enable individuals to reflect on their personal roles and goals in life; to realise their strengths and areas for improvements – to recognise themselves and take pride in who they are

• Develop an awareness of the true picture of Islam, understanding the message of Qur’an and teachings of the Ahlulbait(as) and promote it to the highest level.

• Create an environment in which participants can discuss their belief, practices, thoughts, challenges and experiences with ease

• Strive for the unity within community

• Positively encourage religious, spiritual and social progress

• Facilitating formal and informal interaction with religious scholars

• Provide a platform for increasing friendship circles and support circles

 

 Through our creative, educational and fun-filled indoor, outdoor and online activities for the community in subjects and areas relevant to different groups from different areas, we provide opportunities and services such as:
